Kathleen Carlson finds her voice in the realm of abstract acrylic, oil and mixed media paintings.  Drawing inspiration from the everyday moments in life, her art is an expression of color, form and emotion.

The foundation of her paintings lies in the interplay of color and form within the context of the color field.  Through layered washes of paint, carefully balancing transparent and opaque, she seeks to create something that resonates with the viewer on an emotional level.  Through a process of applying and removing paint, she works until the piece feels complete. Her main focus is to create something beautiful.
